Do’s and Don’ts of the Recipe

I have some tips and tricks for you to make this crockpot noodles recipe easily. Check them out.

Do’s

  • You can add some more vegetables to this recipe if you want this dish to be more nutritious.
  • Instead of corn flour, you can use corn starch slurry in this recipe. Corn starch will give the dish a nicer color.

Don’ts

  • Don’t add any salt to the pot. There is enough soy sauce in this recipe to balance the seasoning. If you add salt, the noodles will be too salty.
  • Don’t cook the noodles for a long time after adding them to the pot. Otherwise, the noodles will be mushy.
  • Don’t use oil in this recipe. While cooking slowly, the chicken will release fat, which is enough for the dish.

What Type of Noodles Is the Best for This Recipe?

Using Chinese instant noodles is the best for this recipe. As the chicken and vegetables are already cooked, you don’t need to cook the noodles for a long time. If you want to avoid gluten, you can also use gluten-free noodles. I don’t recommend using noodles that are too thin for this recipe because they might break down easily.

Can I Use Other Types of Meat for This Crockpot Recipe?

Of course. You can make this recipe with beef, pork, etc., instead of chicken. Remember, the cholesterol in this dish will be increased if you use beef or pork. Also, it might increase the calorie count and change the nutritional value of the dish.

I love making this recipe with beef as well. Especially when the beef is cooked slowly, it gets so tender that you can tear the pieces apart with a fork or chopsticks. Slow-cooked beef is also easier to digest.

Can I Store This Dish in the Fridge?

Yes. This recipe is perfect for meal prep. You can make chicken soy honey noodles in large quantities and store them in the fridge. To store this dish, you should use airtight containers made from food-grade plastic. After putting the noodles in the box, close the lid tightly.

Then, put the container in the fridge. When necessary, take one container out and let the noodles thaw. Heat them a bit or microwave them for about one minute.

Should I Eat These Crockpot Noodles Daily?

Nope. This recipe contains a lot of sugar and sodium. So, regular intake of crockpot noodles might not be good for your health. Eating this much sugar and sodium regularly will cause a lot of problems. Sugar is responsible for gaining weight. It might also cause inflammation, diabetes, and other problems.

Sodium, on the other hand, is responsible for heart problems. Taking a lot of sodium will result in high blood pressure and other cardiovascular diseases. Too much sodium can even cause stroke. So, you shouldn’t eat these crockpot noodles daily. You can include it in your weekly menu once or twice.

Conclusion

There are so many variations of noodle dishes in Chinese cuisine that eating the same recipe twice is difficult. Still, this is gonna be one of your favorite noodle dishes because it can be made with the least hassle. You just need to put everything in the pot and let them cook.

This Chinese crockpot recipe is perfect for your workday lunch or dinner because it packs a lot of protein, carbs, vitamins, and minerals. Try this recipe and let me know if you like it.
