FAQs
If you are planning to try this recipe then you may find some confusing parts. I am going to clear up this confusion by answering some questions. If you still have any confusion, please let me know through comments.
Can I use a different type of cabbage or lettuce?
For a salad, you have complete freedom to change vegetables. So, the answer is yes. You can substitute the cabbage or romaine with any type of lettuce or greens you prefer. Napa cabbage or iceberg lettuce are good alternatives. You may try these. Also, you may use cucumber instead of carrots.
Can I make the dressing ahead of time?
Absolutely! As there is no matter the temperature of the dressing, you can prepare it a day in advance. If you prepare it in advance then store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Just give it a good shake before using it.
How can I make this salad spicier?
I suggest not making the salad spicy. This is not a Chinese style to use the spice in the salad. But if you like spice then you can mix in a teaspoon of chili flakes or a splash of Sriracha sauce into the dressing.
Is it okay to replace peanuts with another type of nut?
No, All nuts are not the same as peanuts. Some nuts are bitter and some are harder. But if you have a peanut allergy or prefer other nuts, you can replace peanuts with cashews.
